Turns out if you remove the gacha monetization and turn it into a single player game with the addictive combat loop, you end up getting a really good game.
I picked this up because the combat looked good, but the story behind the game ended up being another reason to support it. DragonSword originally existed as a gacha game published by Webzen. After the publishing relationship collapsed, Hound13 went through a legal fight over the game, won, and brought it back as a proper paid release without the gacha systems. So after getting screwed over by the publishers the dev refused to let their new gacha game die silently in the good night by removing all the gachas, making it a standalone game and just took the business to Steam. Beyond based.
