Browsing

You can use the whole catalog without signing in or giving us anything. The "Rate my wishlist" tool reads the text you paste, looks the games up, and shows the result. That text answers the request and is not stored or linked to you.

Steam sign-in

Signing in is optional and uses Steam OpenID, so we never see your Steam password. Signing in with Steam stores your public SteamID, your persona name and avatar, whether your profile is public, your owned games with playtime, the games you played in the last two weeks, and your wishlist. Each sync replaces the last one. Steam never gives us your password, email, purchase history or payment details. That is what builds the For You board and marks games you already own. If you save preferences on For You, we store those too. We keep all of it until you delete it.

Signing out clears your session and leaves the stored rows in place. To remove them, use "Delete my data" on the For You page, which erases your profile, owned list, wishlist, saved preferences and wishlist push alerts.

The Library Leaderboard

Signing in does not put you on the Library Leaderboard; joining it is a separate click. If you join, it shows your Steam name and avatar, the average BANG Score of your scored games, how many you own and their tier mix, your BANGERS count, your hours played, the genre most of your games are in, and your top pick.It is shown publicly on that page. The "Leave the leaderboard" button there, or deleting your data, removes you from it.

Email alerts

If you set an email alert on a game (Watch this game), we store your email address, the game, your target price if you set one, the page you signed up on, and a token so you can unsubscribe. We use it to send that alert and nothing else. The weekly digest email takes no new sign-ups; people who subscribed earlier still get it, with an unsubscribe link in every email.

Unsubscribing stops the emails. The address stays on file, marked unsubscribed, so it is not mailed again. To have it erased, ask on the contact page.

Push alerts

If you turn on a push alert for a game, your browser gives us a push address and two keys for it, made by your browser's push service (Google, Mozilla, Apple or Microsoft). We store them with the game, your target price if you set one, and a token so you can stop it. If you are signed in and add your Steam wishlist, we also store your SteamID with it, so we know whose wishlist to check. We use them to send those alerts and nothing else. When we push you a game's Next discount row, we note the game and the window's first day, so the same window never comes twice. Stopping an alert deletes its row and those notes, and if you block notifications for this site the push service tells us the address is gone and we delete every row for it.

Payments

Nothing on this site is for sale, and it takes no payments. If the footer shows a Support link, it goes to Ko-fi, which handles any tip under its own privacy policy. Nothing about a tip is linked to your use of this site.

Analytics

We run our own analytics, and it does not follow you to other sites. It records the page you viewed, the referring site, an approximate country, your browser type, how long the page was visible, and how far you scrolled. To count returning visitors it also stores a random visitor identifier in your browser, and it derives two values on the server: a hashed version of your IP address, and a device fingerprint hashed from your IP, browser, and language. Your raw IP address is not stored. It also records what you type into the site search, with the number of results it found, which store link you click, and which link inside the site you followed to a page. These are tied to the same visitor identifier and session. To tell a new visit from a return, it keeps the time of your last visit in your browser storage. Records older than 90 days are deleted, these included. After that only daily totals remain: counts per page, source, country and search term, with no visitor identifier. Clearing your browser storage resets the visitor identifier.

Cloudflare, which serves this site, also runs Cloudflare Web Analytics on every page: a script from static.cloudflareinsights.com that reports the page, the referring site, your browser type, an approximate country, and how fast the page loaded. It sets no cookie and stores no identifier in your browser. Cloudflare handles that data under its own privacy policy.

Your computer

On a desktop browser this site reads what it can about the machine you are using, so it can tell you whether a game will run on it. That is your operating system, an approximate memory figure, your processor core count, and your graphics card name where the browser will say. It happens automatically when a page loads, unless you have pressed "Forget this PC". Nothing is asked of the operating system directly; these come from standard browser properties any site can read.

The detail stays in this browser, under the key sb_rig. What reaches our server is only what a filter needs: your operating system, the memory figure, and a 0 to 100 rank derived from the graphics card name. Those travel as visible query parameters on board requests, so you can see them in the address bar. The card name itself is not sent. Clearing your browser storage removes all of it. The "Forget this PC" button in the My PC specs panel removes it too, and stops the automatic check in this browser until you turn on the "Runs on this computer" filter on Browse.

Advertising (Google AdSense)

This site shows ads through Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies lets it and its partners serve ads to you based on your visits here and elsewhere on the internet. The vendors and ad networks that may serve them are on Google's list of ad technology partners.

You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies at aboutads.info, and read how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

In the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland, personalized ads and non-essential cookies require your consent. This site does not show a consent banner of its own. Where Google shows its consent message, the choice you make there applies to the ads, and if you decline, this site's page-view analytics stops using its visitor identifier. You can also opt out of personalized ads everywhere using the Google Ads Settings link above, or block third-party cookies in your browser.

Where the data comes from

Scores are derived from public sources: the Steam storefront and Web API, SteamSpy, HowLongToBeat, IsThereAnyDeal, PCGamingWiki, and Metacritic critic scores as the Steam store lists them. Steam BANGERS is not affiliated with Valve, Steam, or those services.

Your rights

If you have signed in with Steam, "Delete my data" on the For You page erases your profile, owned list, wishlist, and preferences. An unsubscribed email address is erased on request through the contact page. Where privacy law (such as the GDPR or the CCPA/CPRA) applies, you have the right to access, correct, or delete personal information and to opt out of personalized advertising, which you can do through the ad controls above. We do not sell your personal information. For anything the self-serve controls do not cover, use the contact page.
