What players say
Recommended with conditions. First of all, ditch DOSBox and install ScummVM instead. You can even edit the .ini files for the launcher to direct to ScummVM. Emulate Roland sound. There. Done. It's about ten minutes of work, but it'll give you the best possible version of this collection. Great games for classic PC players.

The grand-daddy of adventure games. Kings Quest persists as a fun exploratoin into the early days of the adventure game genre, and contains a few actual classics in its publishing history (III, IV, and VI are excellent).
I wouldn't say I enjoyed playing the games since they felt a bit too fiddly (I find SCUMM or Monkey Island games much comfier) but I did enjoy going through each game with a walkthrough and appreciating the evolution of the series.
