Really immersive game. Not a lot of fancy graphics, but you get to see humanity being built from a third person perspective, with fairly accurate timelines and historical markers.

While this game definitely shows its age, more so than its OG contemporaries (i.e. Warcraft, Red Alert), Age of Empires: DE still has plenty to offer for history buffs. Additionally, its unique characteristics relative to later entries in the series provide plenty of reason to come back to the game that started it all. First I'll cover the graphics and soundtrack. I spent more time fighting my own army than the enemies. You tell them to go somewhere and since it's full in that exact spot they decide to go a crazy way to get to that spot. Instead of just going near it.
