The value story
The lowest price on record is $11.99, set in June 2026. 38 discounts in the 7 years on record. They run about 35 percent off, roughly 7 weeks apart. $5.15 is what it would take to make this a BANGER, and nothing in its history goes that low.
On value it sits in the top 37 percent of its genre. It is pricier than 87 percent of its genre, and better reviewed than 92 percent. Among the games that feel like it, ROBOBEAT ($19.99, scores 76) beats it on value, while it beats Vox Machinae ($29.99, scores 52).
Critics scored it 83. Players sit 11 points higher at 94 percent, which usually means a game that plays better than it reviews.
This site sampled 430 of its Steam-purchase reviews; 15 were written by buyers who refunded it, sampled from reviews written March 2020 to August 2026. Inside the two-hour refund window, 88 percent of the 1,399 reviews written there were positive, against 94 percent overall, and those are 39 percent of everything written about it.
The main story runs 2.1 hours. Doing everything runs 7, 3.3 times as long.

Pistol whip is great fun. One of my favourite VR games. While I think something like Beat Saber is probably better purely as a rythm game, I think just the whole combination of fun music, vibrant levels and satisfying gun mechanics is why I see myself playing this much more often than any other rythm game. Definitely a good work out too. It's worth it even for the full price but if you get it during a sale, it's a...
This is 2nd best VR game, hands down. The only game better than this is Beat Saber - and thats partially because of custom songs. I wish this game supported that as well. But honestly its baffing how such a good game is STILL getting updates even 6 years after release. I will definitely buy a sequel if you ever make one.
This is the only VR I've played that stands with Half-Life Alyx and Superhot. Also somehow the best John Wick game.
