The value story
The lowest price on record is $11.99, set in November 2021. 31 discounts in the 5 years on record. They run about 20 percent off, roughly 9 weeks apart.
On value it sits in the top 19 percent of its genre. It is pricier than 87 percent of its genre, and better reviewed than 79 percent. Among the games that feel like it, Chronicon ($13.99, scores 95) beats it on value, while it beats Last Epoch ($34.99, scores 38).
Steam's global achievement data puts about 4 percent of players at this game's ending achievement. On a 9.6-hour game, the hours short of it still count in its price per hour. 13 of the 800 Steam-purchase reviews sampled here come from buyers who refunded the game, sampled from reviews written April 2025 to August 2026. Inside the two-hour refund window, 65 percent of the 589 reviews written there were positive, against 81 percent overall, and those are 9 percent of everything written about it.
Finishing takes 9.6 hours; clearing it takes 64, which is 6.7 times the campaign.
The drop-off

What players say
It gets old quicker than other ARPGs, but it's fun enough while it lasts. Level design is meh, animations are meh, mob variety is meh. Upgrade systems are fun, gameplay is weird because it kinda requires auto-targeting (which is flawed), but it's fun enough. All in all it's about a 6/10 or 7/10 experience. It's good enough to pass the time for a while so I'm not gonna give it a negative review. But in an ARPG world...
Really enjoy the game, but would LOVE more frequent updates (perhaps just a couple quality of life upgrades). Hoping the new Witch class drops soon! My theorycrafting needs a place to live for a while ; )
It is a fun aRPG at the start but having to grind just to progress the story is a turn off. Not a grind to get incrementally stronger because you need to for the next quest, but forced to grind artificially imposed by the gamemaker for the sake of a grind (do x so many times). Play Grim Dawn if you have self respect for your time.
