It is interesting to compare Crowd Simulator with the game KIDS by Frei and Rickenbach, which also features monochrome renderings of large crowds of abstract little gum-figures. In KIDS, the controls are almost too responsive, too smooth -- everything reacts and everything is surreally coordinated, in a way that makes group-think uncanny and disturbing.
