About the game

It has been discounted 18 times in the 2 years tracked here. The median cut across all of them is 70 percent, about 7 weeks apart. Today it is at full price, and its last discount ended 11 days ago.
It is pricier than 89 percent of its genre, and less well reviewed than 84 percent. The games it most resembles do better on the same math. Sky Force Reloaded ($9.99, scores 86) and Chippy ($14.99, scores 73) both outscore it.
More about CYGNI: All Guns Blazing
Steam's global achievement data puts about 12 percent of players at this game's ending achievement. On a 2.4-hour game, the hours short of it still count in its price per hour. 12 of the 442 Steam-purchase reviews sampled here come from buyers who refunded the game, sampled from reviews written August 2024 to August 2026. That is more refunded reviewers than 9 in 10 paid games this site has sampled to the same depth, and among the 1,422 games in its genre sampled this deeply, 104 have a larger share. The typical game sits near 5 in 1,000, so the score docks it. Inside the two-hour refund window, 44 percent of the 201 reviews written there were positive, against 63 percent overall, and those are 45 percent of everything written about it.
The main story runs 2.4 hours. Doing everything runs 6, 2.6 times as long.

What players say
Finished the game on Easy, maxed out my build, got around 4 hours of playtime, but I had a blast! The visuals and audio effects are top notch, the gameplay is fun and engaging. Having to switch between attacking ground and air units is a new mechanic for me and it was a fun addition to the whole set of things you can do in this game. Don't really get the use case for "Railgun" since it's not powerful enough for me...

I bounced off of this game a couple of times. I wanted to like it, but it just didn't click. After finishing the game on Easy today I feel this is a very misunderstood title. You basically have to play it on Easy to start. All the mechanical pieces will fall into place. You'll grasp the shield\power and air\ground mechanics and upgrade your ship along the way in Easy which enables you to handle Medium (default)...
On papers, I'm the perfect audience for this game: I've played enough classics to know and understand the convention, and appreciate innovations and divergences from the norms, but not too attached to what the genre has always been to reject any deviance. This game promised to bring new things to the genre with budget, high-fidelity audiovisual, beginner-friendliness, and appeal to veterans. I think it succeeded...
