The value story

It has never been cheaper than $1.99. That was November 2024. 51 discounts in the 5 years on record. They run about 75 percent off, roughly 5 weeks apart. Today it is at full price, and its last discount ended about 4 weeks ago.

On value it sits in the top 32 percent of its genre. It is pricier than 92 percent of its genre, and better reviewed than 74 percent. Among the games that feel like it, Kaze and the Wild Masks ($9.99, scores 74) beats it on value, while it beats One Gun Guy ($4.99, scores 16).

Inside the two-hour refund window, 67 percent of the 273 reviews written there were positive, against 78 percent overall, and those are 36 percent of everything written about it.

What players say

🏆 100% Achievements Unlocked I have very fond memories of the original Alex Kidd in Miracle World on the Sega Master System. My dad bought me a Master System II (which had Alex Kidd built-in) along with Wonder Boy in Monster Land for Christmas when I was around 4 years old. I have good memories of Christmas morning around 1990 playing Alex Kidd with my dad. The DX version is an incredible remake with updated visuals...

Alex Kidd in Miracle World DX is not so much a game as it is a beautifully restored emotional injury. On the surface, it is a bright, charming remake of a classic Master System platformer. The visuals are lovely, the music has been nicely brought back to life, and with one button you can flick between the shiny new version and the original, which is a neat little feature if you want to remind yourself what happiness...

A terrible game - You die in one hit, the difficulty is excessive, and there's no checkpoint. - There's no restart feature. - A killer pops up from a box and kills you. - The player's movement is unbalanced while jumping on platforms, and there's no controller option to adjust it. - The boss you play rock-paper-scissors against always wins, and you have to play again and again until you finally get lucky and beat...
