6.5/10 Watch the story on YouTube. The combat isn't really good. It's a lot spongy enemies and useless AI companions. You're going to spend a lot of time going up and down ladders and crouching under things. Walking -> climbing up a ladder -> short cutscene -> walking -> climbing down a ladder -> combat -> cutscene -> walking -> cutscene -> repeat The graphics, voice acting, and music are good though.

I was really enjoying this game and I even started to really like the new combat system until I started to get really annoyed by just how much the game is intentionally dragged out to make it longer. So many sections are just a walking simulator and pointless dialogue and annoying gameplay that no one ever asked for like almost all of chapter 8 and 9. It's 30% gameplay and 70% filler and there was no reason for this...
This is my first Final Fantasy game and I went into it knowing nothing about it except for maybe some characters like Cloud, Aerith, Tifa, and Sephiroth, but also how this game is loved by many. So, the first thing I see is how the world of Midgar is absolutely beautiful. Actually, no, this game IS beautiful. My favorite thing about this game are the graphics and the art style they are very mesmerizing to look at...
