♡ TLDR ♡ HOA is a beautiful art piece coupled with lovely relaxing music - and this sadly, is where my praise must end. ♡ DETAILS ♡ I hate to have yet another negative review, but I just cannot recommend this game. With 2.7 hours playtime (and at least 40 minutes of non-progression playing with my cat or lost in the dark); $15 USD just does not feel worth the experience you get. Hoa - Beautiful Painting, Questionable Platformer As a Vietnamese player, I really wanted to love Hoa . Supporting a Vietnamese-made game is great. Pretending the game is amazing just because Vietnamese developers made it? Yeah... no. The Good: - Absolutely gorgeous hand-painted art. - Beautiful atmosphere with very obvious Studio Ghibli inspiration. - Music is relaxing and fits the world well. - Cute creatures...
Such a well-made game from Vietnamese developers! The art style, music, and story are so soft and heartwarming <3 It really reminds me of a Studio Ghibli movie! The last part might be a bit frustrating for some people, but it's a fun challenge and not too difficult to get through. Great job! :D
