Nine Sols is awesome. It gets compared to Hollow Knight a lot, and contrary to many opinions, I think this comparison is fair. It's a metroidvania with a unique aesthetic and great artwork. It diverges in a couple points, though, most of which are positive. For one, the combat in Nine Sols is parry-based. The parries feel very tough to understand at first but are incredibly fun as time goes on-especially in the boss...

peak sols for a reason. extremely tight design and i would say that the length is perfect too. linux had some issues getting my controller to work but it was quickly fixed after a quick protonDB search.
I thought I'd given this a thumbs up when I finished. Oh well. here I am now to give it a long-delayed, well deserved recommendation. This is a rare gem of a game that continues to haunt me; for the lasting questions on mortality, acceptance and the simple price of a future, that it continues to bring to mind so long after I finished it.
