What drives the score
How to read this

About the game

Minimum specs
Minimum on the Steam store: 2 GB of memory, Intel HD Graphics 5000, 2 GB of storage. Runs on Windows, macOS.
The value story
46 discounts in the 4 years on record, a median of 50 percent off across all of them, roughly 5 weeks apart. Today's $6.49 at 50 percent off still sits 52 percent above the floor, so a deeper cut exists in its history.
Against its own genre it lands in the top 6 percent on value. It is pricier than 79 percent of its genre, and better reviewed than 93 percent. Among the games that feel like it, Figment 2: Creed Valley ($4.99, scores 89) beats it on value, while it beats LOST EMBER ($29.99, scores 47).
More about Gibbon: Beyond the Trees
This site sampled 343 of its Steam-purchase reviews; 8 were written by buyers who refunded it, sampled from reviews written May 2022 to August 2026. That is more refunded reviewers than 8 in 10 paid games this site has sampled to the same depth, and among the 2,362 games in its genre sampled this deeply, 352 have a larger share. The typical game sits near 5 in 1,000, so the score docks it. Inside the two-hour refund window, 87 percent of the 278 reviews written there were positive, against 89 percent overall, and those are 61 percent of everything written about it.
1.4 hours to finish it, 6 to exhaust it. The completionist tail is 4.2 times the campaign.
Valve rates it Steam Deck Verified, and at 1.4 hours it is short enough to finish on one.

This game is so fun!! Yes its sad but my gosh like it's the most fun game I have ever played! I love Swinging games. The controls are so easy after the first chapter and each chapter isn't even 10 minutes long. It's quick but there are so many adventures! I haven't even finished the game! I can tell I'm not even close to being finished because I see some people have played 14 hours when I just played 1 hour lol. If...
2 more reviews, 1 not recommended
Fun game, relaxing and enjoyable. Its also satisfying and you can play it with 1 brain cell.
I hate so much that I'm marking this as "not recommended" because it's such an important message and the art is beautiful. But I don't recommend it as a game because it's not--it's a PSA you can play. There's a beautifully sad storyline but you have approximately three moves and no control over direction--you keep going no matter what, which is irksome when it comes to the second half of rescuing creatures because...
