The value story
December 2025 is where it bottomed out, at $2.69. 32 discounts in the 5 years on record. They run about 62 percent off, roughly 7 weeks apart. Today's $2.96 at 67 percent off still sits 10 percent above the floor, so a deeper cut exists in its history.
Take the discount away and it is a 73. With it, 80.
Against its own genre it lands in the top 2 percent on value. It is better reviewed than 95 percent of its genre. Among the games that feel like it, Minami Lane ($2.49, scores 97) beats it on value, while it beats City Game Studio: Your Game Dev Adventure Begins ($19.99, scores 56).
This site sampled 445 of its Steam-purchase reviews; 2 were written by buyers who refunded it, sampled from reviews written March 2022 to August 2026. Inside the two-hour refund window, 74 percent of the 158 reviews written there were positive, against 90 percent overall, and those are 11 percent of everything written about it.
The main story runs 7.2 hours. Doing everything runs 15, 2.1 times as long.
At 7.2 hours it is a handheld-sized game, and Valve rates it Deck Verified.

So happy I finally got to play this classic Kairosoft game! It was a lot of fun experimenting and figuring out what worked and what didn't. I think there's a little bit of a learning curve with this one- job switching was way more important than I first realized, and there was a lot of balancing between leveling up employees and spending points to level up a game's stats. I really did like the natural progression of...
I was able to live out my dreams in this game. Thank you so much for providing us with this wonderful experience.
I ultimately don't recommend this unless you're specifically in the mood for a borderline idle game with not much going on mechanically. Pick a console, genre & theme for a game then watch your devs work on it randomly. Very repetitive, very grindy, kind of a chore to finish. But I do think there's personality and charm here so I plan to check out at least one other game by these devs since I think there's room for...
