The value story
The lowest price on record is $9.99, set in June 2026. Its cuts run 40 percent off as a rule. There have been 9 in the 4 years tracked, about 10 weeks apart.
It is cheaper than 62 percent of its genre, and less well reviewed than 83 percent. Among the games that feel like it, The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners ($19.99, scores 58) beats it on value, while it beats The Walking Dead Onslaught ($29.99, scores 0).
This site sampled 800 of its Steam-purchase reviews; 27 were written by buyers who refunded it, sampled from reviews written March 2023 to August 2026. That is more refunded reviewers than 9 in 10 paid games this site has sampled to the same depth, and among the 1,071 games in its genre sampled this deeply, 86 have a larger share. The typical game sits near 5 in 1,000, so the score docks it. 6 of the 27 refunded reviewers were past Valve's two-hour window when they wrote the review. Inside the two-hour refund window, 45 percent of the 307 reviews written there were positive, against 64 percent overall, and those are 20 percent of everything written about it.
The main story runs 14.1 hours. Doing everything runs 28, 2.0 times as long.

What players say
I need to emphasise straight away that this is not a firm recommendation. While the original TWDSS is still one of the best VR games to date and Retribution is essentially a stand-alone expansion pack, it would be irresponsible of me to not mention that something has clearly gone very wrong at some point in development. (Played on an HTC Vive with Index Knuckles) As a game, it's fine. While it maintains the same...
A good follow up to the first game. Essentially the same game, with a new night mode mechanic.
The base game is actually a ton of fun, I can't say the same about the DLC. SPOILER WARNING!! I got to the Tower where you climb it and half the tower started to not render and glitch out, this caused me to fall and I lost my entire inventory because the bag was stuck out of bounds and was unable to be grabbed again. The entire game feels super rushed, tons of holes in the map and a bunch of floating objects also.
