It took 2,000 years for someone to make chess better! The most challenging game on earth comes to life in Battle Chess. An entire medieval world at war is reflected on the checkered field. Everyone who's ever had a knight take a pawn has seen that capture as more than one piece replacing another on the board.

What players say
I like the game. It is cool. But it is extremely broken and buggy. It crashes on most of my computers and it has severe texture problems. I like it, but I also can't recommend it due to how broken it is.

Would not really recommend except as a gimmick. The animations are fun. They would get repetitive, but you won't be playing this game often enough for that to happen, I think. Main reason is that as a chess engine, it just is not very good, you probably won't learn much about chess from it. Still, if you want to see a rook bash in the head of a pawn and you can get BC:GoK for no more than 2 dollars or so, why not...
I've finally purchased a pc that can handle this program without locking up. B.C. adds a lot of fun to the game. But need a fast pc to run it. I really like the graphics and sound. I think this program would appeal more to a younger person than some seriously old experienced chess expert. Just my humble opinion.
