What drives the score

How to read this

Grades run S to D, read from the buyer's side. ▲ marks a lift, ▼ a drag or a dock, ? an input we do not have, • a fact this genre's score does not use. How the grades work

The value story

Across all 12 discounts in the 3 years tracked, the median cut is 50 percent, about 13 weeks apart. Today it is at full price, and its last discount ended 10 days ago.

It is pricier than 83 percent of its genre. The Shore ($11.99, scores 28) outscores it, and so does My Friendly Neighborhood ($29.99, scores 60). Both sit among its closest neighbours.

More about THE MULLER-POWELL PRINCIPLE: Director's Cut

11 of the 345 Steam-purchase reviews sampled here come from buyers who refunded the game, sampled from reviews written November 2023 to August 2026. That is more refunded reviewers than 9 in 10 paid games this site has sampled to the same depth, and among the 2,362 games in its genre sampled this deeply, 156 have a larger share. The typical game sits near 5 in 1,000, so the score docks it. 1 of the 11 refunded reviewers was past Valve's two-hour window when they wrote the review. Inside the two-hour refund window, 64 percent of the 128 reviews written there were positive, against 72 percent overall, and those are 37 percent of everything written about it.

Valve rates it Steam Deck Verified, and at 4.6 hours it is short enough to finish on one.

What players say

It's a decent puzzle-type game, but I did not expect nor appreciate all the horror sections that are just poorly implemented and rely on trial and error. Graphics are nice, music is alright. Puzzles are ok, most of them are kinda trivial, but there were places I got stumpted at for a bit. The story is.. there. Can't say I was overly interested, but it wasn't bad. Voice acting could've been a bit better, it did feel...

I liked the story and the puzzels the voice acting was lacking in a few moments but the puzzels were fun. There were still a few bugs. But I hope the next patch will clear it up UPDATE: Bugs got fixed :)

Played this years ago and completely forgot about it. Don't really remember anything about it so must not have been memorable. Though what i do remember is the dev stopping by and getting annoyed and treating me like an idiot because i was trying to solve a puzzle by breaking it. So yea not recommend.
