What players say
A cute, fun platformer that mimics Crash Bandicoot's gameplay in a way few other games have. Kao himself is such a great mascot, and the game has a big amount of charm to it. There are downsides, such as the tank controls, as well as the vehicle and maze levels. I'm glad I played Kao and may eventually play it again, but the frustrating points do bring it down a tad.

I wanted to like this, and I can absolutely see the nostalgia someone might have for it, but playing it now is super rough. It feels like a platformer living in the shadows of the games it's trying to emulate, and it doesn't really nail any of the themes or mechanics it reaches for.
