The value story
The lowest price on record is $12.49, set in August 2026. It has been discounted 24 times in the 3 years tracked here, typically at 65 percent off, with about 6 weeks between sales. Today it is at full price, and its last discount ended about 5 weeks ago. $12.41 is what it would take to make this a BANGER, and nothing in its history goes that low.
Value puts it in the top 6 percent of the games it competes with. It is pricier than 99 percent of its genre, and better reviewed than 99 percent. Among the games that feel like it, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth ($69.99, scores 67) beats it on value, while it beats Like a Dragon: Ishin! ($39.99, scores 48).
10 of the 707 Steam-purchase reviews sampled here come from buyers who refunded the game, sampled from reviews written November 2023 to August 2026. That is fewer refunded reviewers than 7 in 10 paid games this site has sampled to the same depth, and among the 2,814 games in its genre sampled this deeply, 2,386 have a larger share. Inside the two-hour refund window, 87 percent of the 263 reviews written there were positive, against 95 percent overall, and those are 3 percent of everything written about it.

Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name may have a smaller world compared to some other games in the series, but I really enjoyed how dense and packed with activities it is. There are plenty of things to do around the city, and the Castle adds another great area filled with its own activities and distractions. It never feels like the smaller map is lacking content.
