What drives the score
How to read this
Every input gets a grade, S to D, read from the buyer's side. The score is multiplicative, so an input only counts as raising when it sits near the top of its own scale. Anything with real room left is holding the score back, because that room is the gap to 100. ▲ marks a lift, ▼ a drag or a dock, ? an input we do not have, • a fact this genre's score does not use. The exact weights stay secret.
The value story
It has never been cheaper than $2.99. That was June 2017. 73 discounts in the 12 years on record. They run about 80 percent off, roughly 7 weeks apart. Today it is at full price. The last sale was about 13 weeks ago, and on this game's rhythm the next one tends to arrive within 7 weeks. It becomes a BANGER at $9.46, a level the record has reached 70 times.
Value puts it in the top 3 percent of the games it competes with. It is pricier than 90 percent of its genre, and better reviewed than 98 percent. Among the games that feel like it, Bastion ($14.99, scores 79) beats it on value, while it beats Shadowrun: Hong Kong - Extended Edition ($19.99, scores 69).
83 from critics against 94 percent from players, and the player number comes from people who own the game.
Steam's global achievement data puts 25 percent of players at this game's ending achievement. The median game this site can measure sits at 8. This site sampled 800 of its Steam-purchase reviews; 6 were written by buyers who refunded it, sampled from reviews written December 2020 to September 2026. Inside the two-hour refund window, 77 percent of the 2,667 reviews written there were positive, against 94 percent overall, and those are 10 percent of everything written about it.
Finishing takes 6 hours; clearing it takes 16, which is 2.6 times the campaign.
Valve rates it Steam Deck Verified, and at 6 hours it is short enough to finish on one.

What players say
This is my third Supergiant title played, and it was very very cool. Mostly enjoyed! I really liked the idea of the planning/time stop in each encounter, and there is also a very nice variety of moves you can unlock. However, my biggest complaint with the game is related to this planning gameplay. after execute your turn, you are recharging most moves (except Jaunt? if you have it) and vulnerable for a few seconds...
Transistor é um jogo com belíssima direção de arte, uma história bem escrita e combate divertido. Pra mim, o melhor jogo da Supergiant!
An excellent indie game with a distinctive cyberpunk atmosphere and a very interesting combat system that blends real-time action with tactical planning. The ability to pause the action and plan attacks creates a satisfying mix of strategy and real-time combat, while the different functions offer plenty of room to experiment with build. It's a very enjoyable and original experience, although its relatively short...

Transistor scores 72/100 on the BANG Score (worth it). The BANG Score rates what a game is worth for the money. Via Steam BANGERS. https://steambangers.com/game/237930/transistorThe BANG Score is one number for value, 0 to 100: price against how it reviews and how long it was built to be. It answers the money question and stops there; whether the game is for you is still your call.
Reviews set the ceiling and price moves you inside it, so a cheap game that reviews badly cannot climb. Ratings from few reviewers are shrunk toward the middle, so 100 percent from nine people does not outrank 96 percent from ninety thousand. Length comes from HowLongToBeat where it can be matched, measured against a per-genre floor so a five-hour narrative game is judged against other narrative games rather than against a sixty-hour RPG. Where no verified length exists the score says so and carries a dock, because the biggest input is then a guess. The full method, including where it is weak → Steam reviews as of Sep 13, price as of Sep 24.
