The value story

It has never been cheaper than $6.79. That was June 2026. 9 discounts in the 17 months on record. They run about 50 percent off, roughly 6 weeks apart.

On value it sits in the top 12 percent of its genre. It is pricier than 84 percent of its genre, and better reviewed than 83 percent. Among the games that feel like it, Garden Story ($19.99, scores 64) beats it on value, while it beats Rogue Heroes: Ruins of Tasos ($19.99, scores 48).

This site sampled 640 of its Steam-purchase reviews; 13 were written by buyers who refunded it, sampled from reviews written May 2025 to August 2026. Inside the two-hour refund window, 79 percent of the 405 reviews written there were positive, against 83 percent overall, and those are 16 percent of everything written about it.

It carries Valve's Deck Verified rating and runs 13.3 hours, about as long as a handheld game wants to be.

What players say

Some fun moments in the story mixed with a rather cosy grind gameplay Liked it, but more for fans of the VLD channel than the broad mainstream

buy on sale, i did because 20 is kinda a lot of this fun game thus far, you will be more forgiving, i LOVE their show mostly npc skits, so i bought this to support them plus i enjoy fishing games . i have about 6 hours in. this is a puzzle type fishing, you will have currents and mazes to guide your fishing you will have some fish that eat any bait so they will get your magnet when you are trying to get a chest...

This is a silly little RPG. The references are fantastic and I enjoyed the progression of Balin's power. You start off by doing things manually so that when you unlock the easier method, it feels good. The one upgrade I really liked was the lateral hook movement. It makes fishing way more controlled.
