I knew this would be a game I would love ever since I saw it being teased in How Fish Is Made. I put off playing it for a long time for that reason. I didn't want to lose the option of playing it for the first time, for the first time. Now that I have I am satisfied that it lived up to the hype I bestowed upon it. This game and No, I'm Not Human are perfect games in the horror genre that I love so much. :) Amazing...
Mouthwashing is a masterpiece of modern indie horror! A great spin on classic sci-fi horror: no aliens, no evil technology. It's almost a paradoxical kind of horror, with sci-fi as its setting, while the only horror is human. It is also an example of in medias res and nonlinear storytelling done well in gaming. It's not easy to make a nonlinear narrative, but Mouthwashing makes its back-and-forth storytelling feel...
This would have to be the most overrated game I've played in a long while. As long as the story is progressing it's okay, I could get into the psycho-drama, but there are so many sequences, especially towards the end, that aren't particularly scary or meaningful, they're really just tedious. There are so many lingering, empty visuals, and mechanics in search of a plot, and by the end the game just starts to run in...
