What players say
This game is a port from handheld consoles, it is not open world, basically is an attempt to bring handheld players to the PC Arkham Series, if you treat it exactly as what it is, it won't disappoint, expect backtracking, a lot of it. At the end of the day it is Metroidvania in its core. Good to add to the story of Batman Arkhamverse.
Having read Steam reviews, I expected this game to be horrible, but it was anything but. It's quite enjoyable and unputdownable, non-linear and highly replayable (which is a big plus since you need to finish the base game once and NG+ twice to unlock all the achievements). Sure, it's not City or Asylum, but still its 2,5D feel a lot closer to 3 than to 2. Combat is simplified, wuth only ground takedown and beatdown...
Unfortunately Origins Blackgate is a letdown. This game has a pretty decent story but the gameplay is very clunky, bland, and boring. The game will consist of 10 hours of cape stun beatdowns with ugly comic book cutscenes in between. The only boss I feel is worth praising is the Deadshot fight which has you running from Deadshot's perspective. The Suicide Squad setup is neat but never acknowledge in the "Kill The...
