The value story
It has never been cheaper than $19.99. That was August 2026. It has been discounted 15 times in the 2 years tracked here, typically at 50 percent off, with about 6 weeks between sales. Today it is at full price, and its last discount ended about 5 weeks ago.
Against its own genre it lands in the top 43 percent on value. It is pricier than 99 percent of its genre. Among the games that feel like it, Planet Coaster ($11.24, scores 83) beats it on value, while it beats Ancient Cities ($29.99, scores 11).
Steam's global achievement data puts 22 percent of players at this game's ending achievement. The median game this site can measure sits at 15. Players rate it 74 percent positive over its lifetime, and the last 30 days run 84 percent. It is aging into a better game than its average suggests. 24 of the 699 Steam-purchase reviews sampled here come from buyers who refunded the game, sampled from reviews written December 2025 to August 2026. That is more refunded reviewers than 8 in 10 paid games this site has sampled to the same depth, and among the 2,725 games in its genre sampled this deeply, 501 have a larger share. Inside the two-hour refund window, 34 percent of the 1,280 reviews written there were positive, against 74 percent overall, and those are 10 percent of everything written about it.

What players say
This game is almost certainly being review botted to make it look better. PC2 is a joke compared to the first, and for anything it does better, it does 5 other things worse. Frontier are greedy, scum sucking, awful turds of a publisher. Absolutely not recommended over the first, or pretty much any game in the roller coaster tycoon series.
Not great. Too much micromanagement - water? Power? The AI is horrible. Staff don't cover breaks. They wander aimlessly. You can't manually assign a person to a ride. They have to decide to work it. Schedules - you have to assign employees schedules in order for them to cover breaks. Terrible UI makes it very distasteful. UI - terrible. Placing paths - if you mis-click the path will overwrite another path and...
Its there best Planet game so far IMO, better than Jurassic Evo 3 too. My only issue with these Frontier games is they all continue just to be park designers and have no real challenge or goals that seem to matter. They almost always get boring once money starts to flow. I think the original planet zoo had a very small step in the right direction with the animal market that had the advanced currency you earned doing...
