What drives the score
How to read this
Grades run S to D, read from the buyer's side. ▲ marks a lift, ▼ a drag or a dock, ? an input we do not have, • a fact this genre's score does not use. How the grades work
About the game
Asteria is a fast paced indie platformer, wrapped up in a sandbox sci-fi world where everything is destructible, mineable, collectable, craftable and creatable.
Minimum specs
Minimum on the Steam store: 1 GB of memory, DirectX 10 compliant video card with 512 MB of RAM, 205 MB of storage. Windows only.
The value story
77 discounts in the 12 years on record, a median of 80 percent off across all of them, roughly 6 weeks apart. Today it is at full price, and its last discount ended 11 days ago.
It is less well reviewed than 96 percent of its genre. Among the games that feel like it, Crea ($14.99, scores 30) beats it on value, while it beats Edge of Space ($14.99, scores 0).
The drop-off
32% start to 5% rarestNo achievement in this game marks the ending, so there is no finish rate. The curve runs from the most-unlocked achievement to the rarest, and its shape is where players stop. Steam global achievements
What players say
An interesting idea that simply did not work out. If you want a game in the same style with elements of magic try terraria instead. If you like the sci-fi themes and don't care for magical elements try starbound instead. Both terraria and starbound have plenty of mods available to add content after finishing with a vanilla playthrough.
1 more review, not recommended
Have played on and off for a while, but since some form of 'update' unable to use the mining tools without physically moving the character around. Game is unlikely to ever be fixed.
