What drives the score
How to read this
Every input gets a grade, S to D, read from the buyer's side. The score is multiplicative, so an input only counts as raising when it sits near the top of its own scale. Anything with real room left is holding the score back, because that room is the gap to 100. ▲ marks a lift, ▼ a drag or a dock, ? an input we do not have, • a fact this genre's score does not use. The exact weights stay secret.
The value story
It has never been cheaper than $7.49. That was August 2020. 89 discounts in the 12 years on record. They run about 75 percent off, roughly 7 weeks apart. Today it is at full price. The last sale was about 2 weeks ago, and on this game's rhythm the next one tends to arrive within 7 weeks.
Against its own genre it lands in the top 8 percent on value. It is pricier than 99 percent of its genre, and better reviewed than 77 percent. Among the games that feel like it, VTOL VR ($29.99, scores 61) beats it on value, while it beats RealFlight Evolution ($99.99, scores 48).
Of the 800 Steam-purchase reviews this site sampled, 23 come from buyers who refunded the game, sampled from reviews written November 2023 to September 2026. That is more refunded reviewers than 8 in 10 paid games this site has sampled to the same depth, and among the 3,221 games in its genre sampled this deeply, 689 have a larger share. Inside the two-hour refund window, 35 percent of the 1,115 reviews written there were positive, against 79 percent overall, and those are 13 percent of everything written about it.
Finishing takes 29 hours; clearing it takes 300, which is 10 times the campaign.

What players say
Not enough content for its huge price tag, the ai is booty crap, and you are limited to very few planes. On the other side, the graphics are almost perfect, the flight mechanics beat most modern flight sims, the planes have detailed interiors, and the damage model is crazy. I could go on about the explosions or the voicelines, but i dont think this is worth the price. I love almost everything but its absurd price...
The game its self is probably great. But i wouldnt know seeing as if youre trying to play this game on mouse and keyboard you'll be spending the first 500 hours of gameplay trying to just figure out how to rebind keys that are unintuitive as ♥♥♥♥ and have 0 descriptions as to what anything does. My entire hour and ten minutes of playing this game up to this point has been me, literally just trying to try and figure...
One of my favorite all time combat aviation simulation games. Tons of DLC to suit whatever you're into.

IL-2 Sturmovik: Battle of Stalingrad scores 56/100 on the BANG Score (fair value). The BANG Score rates what a game is worth for the money. Via Steam BANGERS. https://steambangers.com/game/307960/il-2-sturmovik-battle-of-stalingradThe BANG Score is one number for value, 0 to 100: price against how it reviews and how long it was built to be. It answers the money question and stops there; whether the game is for you is still your call.
Reviews set the ceiling and price moves you inside it, so a cheap game that reviews badly cannot climb. Ratings from few reviewers are shrunk toward the middle, so 100 percent from nine people does not outrank 96 percent from ninety thousand. Length comes from HowLongToBeat where it can be matched, measured against a per-genre floor so a five-hour narrative game is judged against other narrative games rather than against a sixty-hour RPG. Where no verified length exists the score says so and carries a dock, because the biggest input is then a guess. The full method, including where it is weak → Steam reviews as of Sep 21, price as of Sep 24.
