ive never cried over a game before. this had me sobbing. this game is weird and offputting at times, but it's endearing and extremely well-written and i. im gonna be honest i like just finished the final ending. played it in one sitting and i need to lay down. i am not normal about this game. play this game too so you can also be abnormal about it i beg

genuinely one of my favorite visual novels/dating sims out there - highly, HIGHLY recommend!! this is not just a "haha bird dating sim", the story in each ending - especially the final ending - is PHENOMENAL. i love hatomoa's work and if you enjoy this game, i would also vouch for holiday star!
On its surface, Hatoful Boyfriend looks like "the silly bird dating sim". However, as I played through the game and its routes, it became apparent to me that Hatoful Boyfriend is more than than its silly premise. Don't be fooled, this is a genuine Otome game that just happens to have datable birds. As you play through each route, you grow to care about these birds and their world. Some routes are silly while others...
