How to read this

About the game
Celebrate 40 years of Tetris® with 15+ games, a new game, and documentary videos
Minimum specs
Minimum on the Steam store: 8 GB of memory, ATI Radeon HD 4800 Series, Nvidia GeForce 8800GT or greater. Windows only.
The value story
19 discounts in the 2 years on record, a median of 35 percent off across all of them, roughly 5 weeks apart. Today's $15.74 at 55 percent off matches the lowest price in the record.
It is pricier than 99 percent of its genre. The games it most resembles do better on the same math. RetroMaze ($0.99, scores 75) and Planes, Bullets and Vodka ($0.49, scores 69) both outscore it.
More about Tetris® Forever
Of the 298 Steam-purchase reviews this site sampled, 11 come from buyers who refunded the game, sampled from reviews written November 2024 to August 2026. That is more refunded reviewers than 9 in 10 paid games this site has sampled to the same depth, and among the 693 games in its genre sampled this deeply, 11 have a larger share. The typical game sits near 5 in 1,000, so the score docks it. 1 of the 11 refunded reviewers was past Valve's two-hour window when they wrote the review. Inside the two-hour refund window, 56 percent of the 113 reviews written there were positive, against 73 percent overall, and those are 38 percent of everything written about it.
It carries Valve's Deck Verified rating and runs 4.7 hours, about as long as a handheld game wants to be.

Expect an interactive documentary first and foremost. I played the game by going through the timelines linearly, which is the best way to do it, I think. You get to watch the documentary, learn some tid bits and then play the game they were just talking about. Sadly, some of the most important Tetris releases weren't included (probably because of licensing issues) and its a bit disappointing when you get to the part...
Tetris is one of those games I make sure to pick up on every system I own just because I know I'll always want the option to play it. I have my own list of criteria that a Tetris game must meet to be a success. It is not an exhaustive list but it is shockingly rare for a single game to have all of them 1)Must have a rendition of Korobeiniki It's The Tetris Song, and it's the only Tetris song. There's a reason that...
