Roadside Research is a 1 to 4 player co-op gas station simulator. Except you’re aliens. And undercover. Do very human things like restocking shelves while preparing for the invasion. Just don’t get caught.
What drives the score
How to read this
Grades run S to D, read from the buyer's side. ▲ marks a lift, ▼ a drag or a dock, ? an input we do not have, • a fact this genre's score does not use. How the grades work
- How long it takes to beat isn't in our data. We scored it as a typical RPG game (about 8 hours) and docked the score for the missing length.
The value story
The lowest price on record is $9.09, set in May 2026. Its cuts run 25 percent off as a rule. There have been 5 in the 8 months tracked, about 6 weeks apart.
Value puts it in the top 24 percent of the games it competes with. It is pricier than 71 percent of its genre, and better reviewed than 88 percent. Among the games that feel like it, Where Winds Meet (free, scores 50) beats it on value, while it beats Evitania Online - Idle RPG (free, scores 42).
This site sampled 800 of its Steam-purchase reviews; 84 were written by buyers who refunded it, sampled from reviews written February 2026 to August 2026. That is more refunded reviewers than 9 in 10 paid games this site has sampled to the same depth, and among the 3,162 games in its genre sampled this deeply, 73 have a larger share. The typical game sits near 5 in 1,000, so the score docks it. 11 of the 84 refunded reviewers were past Valve's two-hour window when they wrote the review. Inside the two-hour refund window, 52 percent of the 583 reviews written there were positive, against 86 percent overall, and those are 15 percent of everything written about it.
