The value story
The lowest price on record is $0.99, set in December 2016. 66 discounts in the 10 years on record. They run about 50 percent off, roughly 7 weeks apart. Today it is at full price, and its last discount ended about 2 weeks ago.
Value puts it in the top 22 percent of the games it competes with. It is cheaper than 87 percent of its genre, and better reviewed than 80 percent. Among the games that feel like it, Kero Blaster ($9.99, scores 74) beats it on value, while it beats Contra Anniversary Collection ($19.99, scores 34).
None of the 333 Steam-purchase reviews sampled here come from buyers who refunded the game, sampled from reviews written April 2020 to August 2026. Inside the two-hour refund window, 89 percent of the 496 reviews written there were positive, against 91 percent overall, and those are 59 percent of everything written about it.
0.8 hours to finish it, 3 to exhaust it. The completionist tail is 3.1 times the campaign.
The drop-off

What players say
proud 100+ hours on this. galaga is like drugs except cheaper, though ts is essentially free if you have any computer know how
Every enemy formation keeps you on your toes, rewarding quick reactions and precise movement.
An arcade classic! Might be a bit biased, but personally my favorite arcade game of all time. Playing on keyboard an mouse feels a bit clunky compared to how it's supposed to be played (i.e. joystick and fire button), but using a controller is a close second. As an achievement hunter, I like that the milestones actually provide a bit of a challenge to work towards other than just beating my own high scores...
