What players say
Charming, Novel Combat. Lacking in some areas Controls/actions aren't explained in-game and game setup options are also not available in a menu. Instead, there is a readme text in the local game files that explains the handful of specific actions (Steam should have at least highlighted that this existed). The combat interaction system is probably the biggest standout gameplay wise. You have this interesting tradeoff...
The compelling battle system makes this game quite memorable. Where story beats and exploration are but a simple cute distraction, the meat and potatoes of Helen's Mysterious Castle consists in the Wait system: both the player and the enemy monsters are behold to this waiting system, simulating a back and forth of attacks, parrying, magic attacks and on. Genuinely clever and refreshing, for the asking price it's...
If ur a fan of turn based combat would def recommend, one of the most unique combat systems I've seen, very fun & fast paced. Also wtf u reading these reviews for its 2 dollars lol
