The value story
It has never been cheaper than $4.99. That was September 2026. Its cuts run 50 percent off as a rule. There have been 39 in the 10 years tracked, about 7 weeks apart.
Value puts it in the top 34 percent of the games it competes with. It is pricier than 93 percent of its genre, and better reviewed than 70 percent. On the same math Tacoma ($19.99, scores 49) and The Station ($14.99, scores 52) are the better buys, and they are the games it most resembles.
Steam's global achievement data puts 31 percent of players at this game's ending achievement. The median game this site can measure sits at 15. Of the 395 Steam-purchase reviews this site sampled, 1 comes from a buyer who refunded the game, sampled from reviews written March 2020 to August 2026. Inside the two-hour refund window, 52 percent of the 162 reviews written there were positive, against 80 percent overall, and those are 11 percent of everything written about it.
The main story runs 2.5 hours. Doing everything runs 5, 2.1 times as long.

Event[0] is decent enough to satisfy my craving for a space adventure story. I don't feel particularly attached to Kaizen, but the AI technology is good enough for a game released in 2016, when modern attention-based NLP models did not exist yet. You'll be disappointed if you compare it to today's LLM or chatbot, but you may be impressed if you compare it to the text adventure games that were popular in the 70s and...
