The value story
September 2017 is where it bottomed out, at $4.99. 37 discounts in the 9 years on record. They run about 20 percent off, roughly 8 weeks apart.
Value puts it in the top 1 percent of the games it competes with. It is pricier than 86 percent of its genre, and better reviewed than 99 percent. Among the games closest to it, Arcade Moonlander ($0.99, scores 88) and Distance ($24.99, scores 69) both come in lower.
On this data it would still be a BANGER at $23.88. It costs $14.99.
This site sampled 385 of its Steam-purchase reviews; 4 were written by buyers who refunded it, sampled from reviews written March 2020 to August 2026. Inside the two-hour refund window, 89 percent of the 513 reviews written there were positive, against 94 percent overall, and those are 23 percent of everything written about it.

CREDENTIALS, 1999 Just so nobody tells me I don't know what I'm talking about. 1999, freshly finished with my studies, no job, no plan and no particular shame about any of it. Wipeout 2097, six to eight hours in a sitting, Piranha on Phantom. No weapons, because the Piranha doesn't get any, so every race was me and 450 km/h and the sincere hope that nobody behind me had a Quake. Perfect laps on all eight tracks...
One of the best racers ever made. It is extremely fast, very pretty, has a wonderful soundtrack and a wide range of palystyles, ships, tracks, game modes (even an alternative physics model that is more challenging than the base one) and difficulty ranges to keep everyone entertained. It also has different options of multiplayer, good DLC, and hundreds of community-made models and tracks. The cherry on top is it is...
10/10 recommendation if you crave WipeOut. Glider feel, music, maps, amount of content are all peak!
