What drives the score
How to read this
Every input gets a grade, S to D, read from the buyer's side. The score is multiplicative, so an input only counts as raising when it sits near the top of its own scale. Anything with real room left is holding the score back, because that room is the gap to 100. ▲ marks a lift, ▼ a drag or a dock, ? an input we do not have, • a fact this genre's score does not use. The exact weights stay secret.
The value story
It has never been cheaper than $2.99. That was December 2024. Its cuts run 60 percent off as a rule. There have been 48 in the 7 years tracked, about 6 weeks apart. Today it is at full price. The last sale was about 3 weeks ago, and on this game's rhythm the next one tends to arrive within 6 weeks.
Against its own genre it lands in the top 6 percent on value. It is pricier than 95 percent of its genre, and better reviewed than 81 percent. Among the games that feel like it, 7 Days to Die ($44.99, scores 69) beats it on value, while it beats State of Decay: YOSE ($19.99, scores 42).
Critics scored it 69. Players sit 14 points higher at 83 percent, which usually means a game that plays better than it reviews.
Players rate it 83 percent positive over its lifetime, but the last 30 days run 72 percent. Something recent has soured the room. This site sampled 800 of its Steam-purchase reviews; 17 were written by buyers who refunded it, sampled from reviews written April 2026 to September 2026. Inside the two-hour refund window, 37 percent of the 4,337 reviews written there were positive, against 83 percent overall, and those are 7 percent of everything written about it.
The main story runs 16.1 hours. Doing everything runs 138, 8.6 times as long.
6 years after release it still had 1.3K people in it at once.

What players say
It's a very good game, everything is great. On higher difficulties, the game is not just difficult and it's still enjoyable. The music is very good. It would be very interesting if some of the lakes had fishing capabilities. Just one thing that bothers me is that zombies constantly spawn in the most random locations. I get tired of the game. When I go through the path, I clear it, and when I look behind me, it's...
I really like the game, can recommend for people finding a different experience but a similar zombie survival aspect of Project Zomboid. - Shoot and Loot game, you visit Point of Interest or houses and get stuff - Community management is simple, you upgrade your base, keep them happy, give them guns (they have unlimited ammo as an AI) to fend off siege (could be better with improved AI, lore and more custom features...
TLDR: this game has lots of interesting ideas in its game design, but they are very poorly implemented, especially when it comes to time management in the game. The messed up time management mechanics prevent you from really enjoying the game at your own pace; you are forced to constantly hurry up, passing by all the interesting locations and not being able to take in the atmosphere. I am very much looking forward...
Player reviews from Steam: the most helpful all-time, plus the newest that clear the same quality bar, with the hours each player had put in when they wrote it. The mix of Recommended and Not recommended follows the game's Steam ratio. Rotates daily. Opinions are theirs.

State of Decay 2: Juggernaut Edition scores 64/100 on the BANG Score (fair value). The BANG Score rates what a game is worth for the money. Via Steam BANGERS. https://steambangers.com/game/495420/state-of-decay-2-juggernaut-editionThe BANG Score is one number for value, 0 to 100: price against how it reviews and how long it was built to be. It answers the money question and stops there; whether the game is for you is still your call.
Reviews set the ceiling and price moves you inside it, so a cheap game that reviews badly cannot climb. Ratings from few reviewers are shrunk toward the middle, so 100 percent from nine people does not outrank 96 percent from ninety thousand. Length comes from HowLongToBeat where it can be matched, measured against a per-genre floor so a five-hour narrative game is judged against other narrative games rather than against a sixty-hour RPG. Where no verified length exists the score says so and carries a dock, because the biggest input is then a guess. The full method, including where it is weak → Steam reviews as of Sep 12, price as of Sep 24.
