What drives the score
How to read this
Grades run S to D, read from the buyer's side. ▲ marks a lift, ▼ a drag or a dock, ? an input we do not have, • a fact this genre's score does not use. How the grades work
About the game
Inspired by the great ‘90s classics such as 'Monkey Island', 'Day of the Tentacle', 'Tony Tough' and 'Sam & Max: Hit the Road', "The Wardrobe" has a strong sense of humour, but isn't shy about dealing with mature and non-politically correct themes.
Minimum specs
Minimum on the Steam store: 2 GB of memory, ATI Radeon HD 3400 Series, Geforce 9400 Series with at least 512 MB VRAM, 5 GB of storage. Runs on Windows, macOS.
The value story
It has been discounted 79 times in the 10 years tracked here. The median cut across all of them is 75 percent, about 5 weeks apart. Today it is at full price, and its last discount ended 11 days ago.
Value puts it in the top 31 percent of the games it competes with. It is pricier than 81 percent of its genre, and better reviewed than 71 percent. On the same math Lost in Play ($19.99, scores 66) and Randal's Monday ($1.99, scores 47) are the better buys, and they are the games it most resembles.

What players say

One of the worst point-and-click adventures I've ever played. Most of the puzzles make ZERO sense, yet the obnoxious protagonist never misses a chance to call you 'stupid' or 'idiotic' for every single item combination you try, it is so extremely annoyng. The forced humor in every single line of dialogue gets old fast, especially since most of the jokes are predictable and just don't land. Annoyng character + forced...
The good : - Graphics. It's saturated to the hilt in every meaning of the word. - Writing and humor. Very good. Some of the lines are extremely hilarious. - Music and voice acting. Both top notch. The bad : - Some of the puzzles are impossible to crack without bruteforcing. P.S. Chicken with the pulley in the middle - check.
