The Dread/Contentment cycle is not hard but plain annoying. Instead of focusing on uncovering what mystical stuff there are, you have to do a muscle memory ordeal to deal with Dread. How often? Every couple mins! Game seemed ok just long enough that I cant get a refund.
I have now done six attempts at playing through this game, and I still feel I haven't gotten to the "juicy" parts of it despite trying my absolute best. The "expedition" mechanic is just busted. I have never once gotten a positive result from it. Either you have a follower die, you exhaust every single last Funds you have on the expedition, or the expedition simply *doesn't end* despite you not giving it more...
A technical, but intriguing card game. The key to success is endless experimentation and meticulous organization. A seemingly empty board becomes gradually filled with increasingly complex mechanics and interactions. A peaceful, yet challenging game. You set the pace!
