Monster taming meets metroidvania. Collect, train and battle monsters in a lovely side-scroller pixel world.
Each input wears a grade, S to D, read from the buyer's side. The color is the direction: green raises the score, red lowers it, grey sits neutral. ▼ marks a dock, ? a missing input, • a fact this genre's score does not use. The exact weights stay secret. These are the inputs and the direction each pushes.

I'd give it neutral if I could. The game has a lot going for it. It's unique with its mixture of pokemon and metroidvania elements. I love metroidvanias and I love pokemon, so I thought it would be a blast. The fact that each monster has its own skill tree and upgradeable gear is awesome and very unique, and I like the idea that you need to catch certain monsters to get around certain obstacles or complete certain...
I couldn't recommend this game more. It's one of the very few games I've ever played where I was sad to know that the end was coming up. Granted, there's still post-game content and plenty of replay value, but this was an experience I would love to have for the first time again. Even the monsters that look weak or unremarkable can be amazing on the right team and there are countless synergies to explore. The music...

The lowest price on record is $4.99, set in November 2023. It has been discounted 62 times in the 7 years tracked here, typically at 66 percent off, with about 6 weeks between sales. Today's $7.49 at 75 percent off still sits 50 percent above the floor, so a deeper cut exists in its history.
Steam's global achievement data says about 6 percent of players ever finish it. On a 30.3-hour game, that is a lot of paid-for hours most people never see.
