What drives the score
How to read this
Grades run S to D, read from the buyer's side. ▲ marks a lift, ▼ a drag or a dock, ? an input we do not have, • a fact this genre's score does not use. How the grades work
About the game
Death Crown is a minimalist real time strategy game in a 1bit style, where you will be play Death herself, commanding her legions of death, and punishing humanity's Kingdom for its overconfidence.
Minimum specs
Minimum on the Steam store: 2 GB of memory, NVIDIA GT/s 4xx or equivalent, 297 MB of storage. Windows only.
The value story
75 discounts in the 7 years on record, a median of 75 percent off across all of them, roughly 5 weeks apart. Today's $2.59 at 80 percent off still sits 162 percent above the floor, so a deeper cut exists in its history.
Value puts it in the top 3 percent of the games it competes with. It is pricier than 77 percent of its genre, and better reviewed than 93 percent. Among the games that feel like it, Battle for Wesnoth (free, scores 86) beats it on value, while it beats Grim Nights ($0.98, scores 75).

What players say
apprehensive at first about the initial release offering burning eye hole blindness *white* there is also now "negative", (white on black) and many other 1-bit (2 color) monochrome offerings now with the recent "color" addition, the gameplay feels less willing to suffer the player perspective the heavy dithered cutscenes are exceedingly enjoyable to witness although a basic RTS with limited resources and units it...

Cute and compact RTS experience that is still being tweaked as of writing. A real gem I must return to and finally finish and enjoy as much as its makers do.
This game is a fun, bit-sized RTS game. The objective is to defeat the opponent's castle before they do yours, via overwhelming their structures and army with your own. There are three options for building: mines (money), barracks/graveyard (troops), and towers (defense). There are a few other things that come into play later during the campaigns, as well. As you can see from my play time, the game is quite short...
