The value story
June 2024 is where it bottomed out, at $3.99. Its cuts run 60 percent off as a rule. There have been 58 in the 8 years tracked, about 6 weeks apart.
Value puts it in the top 11 percent of the games it competes with. It is pricier than 91 percent of its genre, and better reviewed than 76 percent. Among the games that feel like it, Fishing Planet (free, scores 71) beats it on value, while it beats Ultimate Fishing Simulator® ($19.99, scores 49).
3 of the 384 Steam-purchase reviews sampled here come from buyers who refunded the game, sampled from reviews written March 2020 to September 2026. Inside the two-hour refund window, 35 percent of the 113 reviews written there were positive, against 80 percent overall, and those are 12 percent of everything written about it.

What players say
My personal favorite fishing game. Played a ton on console too. Has a career mode with sponsors similar to an EA game. Pretty fun, somewhat repetitive but relaxing.
The best fishing game I've played since 'Gone Fishin'', which was released in 1994, which I played on '98 SE. No ridiculous 'lure cam'. No obnoxious HUD. Just a lake and your chosen style of fishing. Sometimes it's tranquil, sometimes it's manic; just like fishing.
I've owned this game for several years on PlayStation. I finally broke down and also got it through Steam since I got a gaming laptop. It is one of the best fishing games I've played, and I have tried many! Pros: Lots of DLCs which means many venues to fish around the world. It also has a huge variety of fish. Lots of lures and baits to choose from. I recommend that the first DLC you get is the one with the Bass Pro...
