The value story
It has never been cheaper than $8.99. That was June 2026. Its cuts run 25 percent off as a rule. There have been 41 in the 6 years tracked, about 8 weeks apart. Today it is at full price, and its last discount ended about 13 weeks ago.
It is pricier than 91 percent of its genre, and less well reviewed than 65 percent. The games it most resembles do better on the same math. Battle for Wesnoth (free, scores 86) and Gladiator Guild Manager ($14.99, scores 54) both outscore it.
10 of the 570 Steam-purchase reviews sampled here come from buyers who refunded the game, sampled from reviews written May 2020 to August 2026. Inside the two-hour refund window, 55 percent of the 180 reviews written there were positive, against 71 percent overall, and those are 20 percent of everything written about it.

What players say
The bugs in this game make it crash constantly. For the very basic graphics it uses, it seems to overly tax my gaming laptop's resources. The DLC has so many bugs I couldn't list them all in the space provided. The DLC is unplayable until the bugs are fixed.
I regret buying this years ago. Its even buggier now. After some time, you can select units any more etc. I already had this bug (different PC) before, its not fixed yet. But hey, there is a big banner that they wasted tax money on this...nice
probably one of the best games to play when all your friends are playing another game without you and the ones who want to play games with you are on vacation... I probably need new friends...
