What drives the score

How to read this

Grades run S to D, read from the buyer's side. ▲ marks a lift, ▼ a drag or a dock, ? an input we do not have, • a fact this genre's score does not use. How the grades work

Gates the score. Weak reviews cap it, and nothing reaches BANGER without strong ones
Refunds27 of 800 reviews
Well above the typical game's share of reviews from refunded buyers, so the score takes a small dock

The value story

April 2025 is where it bottomed out, at $4.99. 76 discounts in the 8 years on record. They run about 33 percent off, roughly 5 weeks apart.

It is pricier than 83 percent of its genre. Among the games that feel like it, Pavlov ($24.99, scores 47) beats it on value, while it beats Onward ($24.99, scores 15).

Of the 800 Steam-purchase reviews this site sampled, 27 come from buyers who refunded the game, sampled from reviews written November 2020 to August 2026. That is more refunded reviewers than 8 in 10 paid games this site has sampled to the same depth, and among the 1,071 games in its genre sampled this deeply, 114 have a larger share. The typical game sits near 5 in 1,000, so the score docks it. 3 of the 27 refunded reviewers were past Valve's two-hour window when they wrote the review. Inside the two-hour refund window, 54 percent of the 880 reviews written there were positive, against 76 percent overall, and those are 23 percent of everything written about it.

What players say

Too much jank. And it should be renamed soldier of one. I got this based off "campaign" and all that is is go do that all by yourself soldier. I already have Contractors and Pavlov... and they work way better. I don't care the game is old now - it should have zero jank now that its this old and a sequel is out.

Error 136, can't even host a co-op lobby with a friend :( Edit: The game was later patched, bringing the servers online for all regions, but I missed the window of opportunity of playing the game with a friend. Still, I went through the rest of the campaign solo, and it was mildly decent, though I question some of the encounter design on display (particularly the final boss), and the mission dialogue absolutely gets...

Very fun game if you wanna feel like a soldier. Though, you may gravitate only to a very few select weapons.
