The value story

The lowest price on record is $2.99, set in December 2022. It has been discounted 63 times in the 7 years tracked here, typically at 67 percent off, with about 6 weeks between sales.

Value puts it in the top 1 percent of the games it competes with. It is pricier than 77 percent of its genre, and better reviewed than 99 percent. The nearest things to it, Cat Quest III ($19.99, scores 70) and Nobody Saves the World ($24.99, scores 71), are both worse buys on this math.

The press gave it 76; the people who bought it give it 95 percent. A 19-point gap in the buyer's favour.

Of the 553 Steam-purchase reviews this site sampled, 3 come from buyers who refunded the game, sampled from reviews written March 2020 to August 2026. Inside the two-hour refund window, 81 percent of the 490 reviews written there were positive, against 95 percent overall, and those are 8 percent of everything written about it.

Valve rates it Steam Deck Verified, and at 7.5 hours it is short enough to finish on one.

What players say

More of the same from the first game, but improved. It cost only £10.00 for all three CQ games on sale, which is a steal. It's basically a very simplified Elder Scrolls game. You go on fetch or kill quests, there's simple RPG elements, gear, weapons, spells. The art style is really nice. The humour was fun. I'd give this a solid 8/10, it's an improvement on CQ1. On sale it's great value. Achievements - nothing...

Even better than the first game, especially because you can now play 2-player co-op with a friend! Playing as a cat and a dog together is super fun, and the combat and magic feel much smoother. It still gets a bit repetitive after a while, but it's an awesome game to play together. 8.5/10

I finished the first game, and although I found it lacking, I remember being ok with it. But this game adds nothing to it. In fact, it makes some stuff worse than the first. The gameplay is still the same button mashing garbage. Mash...
