Actually a really fun mix of FPS and tower defense. I like how the game doesn't just make you build towers and watch everything happen. You still have to get into the fight yourself, shoot enemies, defend the core and work together with your defenses. It makes the gameplay feel much more active than a normal tower defense game. A fun twist of tower defense and first person shooter with satisfying level ups and level progression. Maybe a little dated for today but still fun to play nonetheless.
I don't feel like this has aged well and when I compare the tower defense to games like Defense Grid 2 it really doesn't hit for me. Playing in the world with the towers seems like a fun gimmick but I think it hurts more than helps. Being on the ground floor means you don't have a good view of the play field (as compared to standard top-down view), the enemies can bump and jostle you, your towers can get in your...
