The value story
It has never been cheaper than $4.99. That was April 2022. It has been discounted 35 times in the 6 years tracked here, typically at 75 percent off, with about 5 weeks between sales.
Value puts it in the top 33 percent of the games it competes with. It is pricier than 80 percent of its genre, and better reviewed than 68 percent. Among the games that feel like it, Hades ($6.24, scores 95) beats it on value, while it beats SWORN ($24.99, scores 49).
3 of the 400 Steam-purchase reviews sampled here come from buyers who refunded the game, sampled from reviews written April 2021 to July 2026. Inside the two-hour refund window, 68 percent of the 202 reviews written there were positive, against 87 percent overall, and those are 19 percent of everything written about it.
HowLongToBeat players log 7.2 hours as a typical playtime, and completionists log 29, 4.0 times as much.
It carries Valve's Deck Verified rating and runs 7.2 hours, about as long as a handheld game wants to be.

What players say
If you like that Dead Cells / Hades genre and you're looking for something in that vein, I think you should pick this up on sale and give it a shot. For me, it didn't quite live up to other games in that genre, so I put it down after awhile - but I still recognize the quality of it.
It's pretty boring. Combat is mid made bad with bad card options which most are due to cooldowns. Card options are limited and a lot of combinations are pretty weak making experimenting feel stale very quickly.
