I used to play Langrisser 1 a lot when I was little, but it was known as Warsong in the US on Sega Genesis. This is a different experience than the Sega Cartridge, and much more forgiving. The gameplay is just the right level of challenging, most of the time, with it skewing more towards easier than harder. That could just be me, though. Enjoyable unit tactics game. I never played these older games and I am glad they are available for me to try polished up now. Music is good, gameplay is fun, Japanese voice acting is pretty good.
And that's where the mixed feelings begin. On one hand, everything is noticeably easier now. There's no longer that constant pressure where a single mistake can cost you the entire run. The economy doesn't suffocate you anymore, the RNG feels far less brutal, and overall the game is much more forgiving. It's no longer that hardcore experience where you're constantly on the edge of losing everything. But on the other...
