The value story
March 2023 is where it bottomed out, at $2.99. 63 discounts in the 6 years on record. They run about 85 percent off, roughly 5 weeks apart.
Against its own genre it lands in the top 29 percent on value. It is pricier than 76 percent of its genre, and better reviewed than 66 percent. The games it most resembles do better on the same math. Rock of Ages ($9.99, scores 72) and Rock of Ages 2: Bigger & Boulder™ ($14.99, scores 55) both outscore it.
This site sampled 577 of its Steam-purchase reviews; 7 were written by buyers who refunded it, sampled from reviews written July 2020 to August 2026. Inside the two-hour refund window, 60 percent of the 195 reviews written there were positive, against 75 percent overall, and those are 16 percent of everything written about it.

What players say
A rock solid experience, and another great entry to the series. Personally I did detect a slight but noticable vibe change with the look and humour, but It was still a very enjoyable time. I had a blast with the new units and boulders, I quite enjoyed the bosses, and I actually had a great time with some of the races and the Humpty Dumpty levels. This is definitely a must play for fans of the previous two games, and...
What the hell is this part even supposed to be? I really liked Rock of Ages 1 and 2, but this one is complete garbage. The optimization is terrible, and about 70% of the maps are boring as hell. The only thing I liked was the new weapons. I still got all the achievements, but the game is trash tho.
