A unique hybrid between turn-based tactical games and traditional, character-centric RPGs. Knight's Tale is a modern retelling of a classic Arthurian mythology story filtered through the dark fantasy tropes, a twist on the traditional tales of chivalry.
What drives the score
How to read this
Every input gets a grade, S to D, read from the buyer's side. The score is multiplicative, so an input only counts as raising when it sits near the top of its own scale. Anything with real room left is holding the score back, because that room is the gap to 100. ▲ marks a lift, ▼ a drag or a dock, ? an input we do not have, • a fact this genre's score does not use. The exact weights stay secret.
The value story
The lowest price on record is $13.49, set in June 2024. It has been discounted 32 times in the 6 years tracked here, typically at 70 percent off, with about 7 weeks between sales. Today it is at full price. The last sale was this month, and on this game's rhythm the next one tends to arrive within 7 weeks.
Against its own genre it lands in the top 31 percent on value. It is pricier than 99 percent of its genre, and better reviewed than 65 percent. Among the games that feel like it, The Last Spell ($24.99, scores 78) beats it on value, while it beats Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate - Daemonhunters ($44.99, scores 41).
This site sampled 800 of its Steam-purchase reviews; 9 were written by buyers who refunded it, sampled from reviews written November 2022 to August 2026. Inside the two-hour refund window, 61 percent of the 394 reviews written there were positive, against 84 percent overall, and those are 6 percent of everything written about it.
HowLongToBeat players log 34.6 hours as a typical playtime, and completionists log 88, 2.6 times as much.

What players say
I think this game is entertaining, good looking and tactically interesting. I´ve only just started out on the campaign and done 5-6 missions and run into cool new characters. My one notable critique: I am fighting the same kind of enemy all the time: Zombies or skeletons. From the trailer, I´ve noticed that there will be a greater variety of enemies eventually... but this has been affecting my initiative and mood to...
Recommended (16 hours played) It's been years since a game grabbed me this hard. I sat down and completely lost track of time - 16 hours just disappeared while I was fully concentrated. King Arthur: Knight's Tale is a fantastic dark take on the Arthurian legend. The turn-based combat is excellent and surprisingly deep. I really appreciated the tactical layers - careful positioning and facing, the armor/vitality...
A fun game that has a lot of good things going for it. Unfortunately, it doesn't respect your time. Around Act III the fights have so many opponents that they take forever. They are not hard just boring.
Player reviews from Steam: the most helpful all-time, plus the newest that clear the same quality bar, with the hours each player had put in when they wrote it. The mix of Recommended and Not recommended follows the game's Steam ratio. Rotates daily. Opinions are theirs.

King Arthur: Knight's Tale scores 62/100 on the BANG Score (fair value). The BANG Score rates what a game is worth for the money. Via Steam BANGERS. https://steambangers.com/game/1157390/king-arthur-knight-s-taleThe BANG Score is one number for value, 0 to 100: price against how it reviews and how long it was built to be. It answers the money question and stops there; whether the game is for you is still your call.
Reviews set the ceiling and price moves you inside it, so a cheap game that reviews badly cannot climb. Ratings from few reviewers are shrunk toward the middle, so 100 percent from nine people does not outrank 96 percent from ninety thousand. Length comes from HowLongToBeat where it can be matched, measured against a per-genre floor so a five-hour narrative game is judged against other narrative games rather than against a sixty-hour RPG. Where no verified length exists the score says so and carries a dock, because the biggest input is then a guess. The full method, including where it is weak → Steam reviews as of Aug 1, price as of Sep 24.
