The value story

It has never been cheaper than $15.99. That was November 2023. Its cuts run 60 percent off as a rule. There have been 41 in the 5 years tracked, about 6 weeks apart.

Against its own genre it lands in the top 1 percent on value. It is pricier than 99 percent of its genre, and better reviewed than 97 percent. Among the games that feel like it, Murders on the Yangtze River ($14.99, scores 94) beats it on value, while it beats This Bed We Made ($24.99, scores 54).

$75.72 is where it would stop being a BANGER. It is priced at $39.99.

Critics scored it 83. Players sit 11 points higher at 94 percent, which usually means a game that plays better than it reviews.

Steam's global achievement data puts 29 percent of players at this game's ending achievement. The median game this site can measure sits at 15. This site sampled 627 of its Steam-purchase reviews; 1 was written by a buyer who refunded it, sampled from reviews written July 2021 to August 2026. Inside the two-hour refund window, 84 percent of the 172 reviews written there were positive, against 94 percent overall, and those are 3 percent of everything written about it.

It carries Valve's Deck Verified rating, which is the one that means it just works.

What players say

Highly, HIGHLY recommend this game. The animation and voices are amazing, and the characters all have that fantastical Ace Attorney charm to them. You quickly fall in love with every character that gets introduced, and you get to watch them change and grow with every chapter. With the Summation Examination added, it feels a lot more lot real-life court which I actually like quite a lot, and it's pretty easy to get...

Absolutely incredible. Been an Ace Attorney fan since late-2016, and I am embarassed at how long it's taken me to get around to this duology,. because it is BY FAR the best in the entire franchise. It's WILD that this only has Very Positive. A disservice to one of the best visual novels I've ever played. Trials and Tribulations has been dethroned. Phoenix Wright has been dethroned.

TLDR: Play Dual Destinies and Spirit of Justice. Great Ace was kind of meh. It wasnt terrible but it wasnt making any new waves or statements of it's own. Not the best Ace Attourney by a long shot. It took mechanics designed in Layton vs. Wright (panel witnesses) but then used them worse. Its own new mechanic: the jurist system and sholmes deductions, did not amount to much, and the super observation sequences never...
