What drives the score
How to read this
Every input gets a grade, S to D, read from the buyer's side. The score is multiplicative, so an input only counts as raising when it sits near the top of its own scale. Anything with real room left is holding the score back, because that room is the gap to 100. ▲ marks a lift, ▼ a drag or a dock, ? an input we do not have, • a fact this genre's score does not use. The exact weights stay secret.
The value story
The lowest price on record is $7.99, set in March 2021. It has been discounted 20 times in the 5 years tracked here, typically at 35 percent off, with about 8 weeks between sales. Today's $10.79 at 40 percent off still sits 35 percent above the floor, so a deeper cut exists in its history.
Value puts it in the top 1 percent of the games it competes with. It is pricier than 81 percent of its genre, and better reviewed than 96 percent. Among the games that feel like it, Symphony of War: The Nephilim Saga ($19.99, scores 91) beats it on value, while it beats Sea of Stars: Sunset Edition ($34.99, scores 71).
$27.10 is where it would stop being a BANGER. Today it is $10.79.
Of the 666 Steam-purchase reviews this site sampled, 11 come from buyers who refunded the game, sampled from reviews written February 2022 to September 2026. In its first 30 days on sale, 1 of 132 sampled reviews came from a refunder. Inside the two-hour refund window, 75 percent of the 372 reviews written there were positive, against 92 percent overall, and those are 8 percent of everything written about it.

What players say
Psst: I don't need to review a game my mom beat in the 90s on the original SNES CONSOLE.. But then again i'm the idiot that's only just now trying to beat it after playing FFXIV for years lol. Problem is i play FFXIV and don't shut up about Six. KEFKA IM COMING FOR UR A$$!!!
Final boss is the magnum opus of 2d Final Fantasy games. Nobuo Uematsu is a genius. There is a noticeable jump in quality from the previous entries, the first game in a series that made shed a tear.
Initially, I swore to give this game a bad review over the simple fact that Intangir is missable, but I decided to be fair instead. Final Fantasy VI is absolutely great, and it introduced me to what I consider my all-time permanent favourite character, which is Terra . This game has the best story and music I have ever heard across all Final Fantasy games, which alone is good enough to make it the best Final Fantasy...
Player reviews from Steam: the most helpful all-time, plus the newest that clear the same quality bar, with the hours each player had put in when they wrote it. The mix of Recommended and Not recommended follows the game's Steam ratio. Rotates daily. Opinions are theirs.

FINAL FANTASY VI scores 87/100 on the BANG Score (a BANGER). The BANG Score rates what a game is worth for the money. Via Steam BANGERS. https://steambangers.com/game/1173820/final-fantasy-viThe BANG Score is one number for value, 0 to 100: price against how it reviews and how long it was built to be. It answers the money question and stops there; whether the game is for you is still your call.
Reviews set the ceiling and price moves you inside it, so a cheap game that reviews badly cannot climb. Ratings from few reviewers are shrunk toward the middle, so 100 percent from nine people does not outrank 96 percent from ninety thousand. Length comes from HowLongToBeat where it can be matched, measured against a per-genre floor so a five-hour narrative game is judged against other narrative games rather than against a sixty-hour RPG. Where no verified length exists the score says so and carries a dock, because the biggest input is then a guess. The full method, including where it is weak → Steam reviews as of Sep 18, price as of Sep 24.
