About the game

Minimum specs
Minimum on the Steam store: 4 GB of memory, GeForce GTX 550 Ti / Radeon HD 6790 2GB VRAM*, 4 GB of storage. Windows only.
The value story
It has been discounted 52 times in the 5 years tracked here. The median cut across all of them is 80 percent, about 6 weeks apart. Today's $4.99 at 80 percent off still sits 100 percent above the floor, so a deeper cut exists in its history.
It is pricier than 92 percent of its genre, and less well reviewed than 95 percent. On the same math Pixel Piracy ($14.99, scores 15) and Corsairs Legacy - Pirate Action RPG & Sea Battles ($19.99, scores 26) are the better buys, and they are the games it most resembles.
More about King of Seas
Steam's global achievement data puts about 7 percent of players at this game's ending achievement. On an 18-hour game, the hours short of it still count in its price per hour. This site sampled 554 of its Steam-purchase reviews; 5 were written by buyers who refunded it, sampled from reviews written May 2021 to August 2026. Inside the two-hour refund window, 41 percent of the 126 reviews written there were positive, against 59 percent overall, and those are 21 percent of everything written about it.

What players say
I mean its a fun enough pirate RPG, I think that Pirates: Caribbean Hunt did it much better. Its essentially a cartoony version of that game with a short little story that makes it engaging, the core gameplay loop is fetch quest heaven. I do think the "magic" you can equip your ships with is a point that could be better advertised as it was one of the more fun aspects of this game, all together its worth it if on...

The state of the game in 2026 is wonderful. It plays amazing on the deck, and it gives a nostalgia feeling for anyone who is a fan of Sid Meier's Pirates. Is it the best game I've played? No Is it a game that I come back to when I want to play some smooth naval combat? Absolutely
The graphics style and audio/soundtrack are beautiful. However, the controls and gameplay were awkward and made the game more difficult than it should be. I'm typically a fan of this type of game, but I didn't enjoy this one.
